Easy Spirit Breath





Breath can be a beautiful embodied spiritual practice that brings more of what sustains into your body.  When we inspire, we bring in oxygen which is life sustaining and when we exhale, we release carbon dioxide, or that which is no longer serving our physical body.   

Because of this, breath is a beautiful metaphor for living - breathing in more of what sustains us and breathing out that which no longer serves. 

I found this lovely animated picture on the internet and appreciate it's consistent easy rhythm. It reminds me to:
  • breathe mindfully and slow down
  • breathe consistently and with balance
  • celebrate the energy of Spirit filling my body
  • acknowledge the process of letting go


Affirmations 

I inhale that which supports my Highest good. 
I exhale that which no longer serves. 



This entire easy and well-known practice also reminds me that in every moment, I can change my own state. The breath can also be a reminder of will force, of positive possibility, and that I  (and I alone) am in control of my own healing journey.
